On August
28th, 2003, Prelite began work in the studio with our largest show to date. The
GM DBC required 17 universes of data on 3 Hog IIs and 6 overdrive boxes. The schedule was set for Dennis Connors to go to the SF studio for 3 days to set up all consoles with palette and patch info, and do error checking. Once his preliminary work was complete, two Perform 5000 Prelite Onsite systems were packaged and sent to Las Vegas where Adam Rechner hosted the session. It was there that the real cuing was begun in a separate room while the load in took place next door. It was a great situation for the design team: they were available to answer questions regarding load-in logistics while continuing to create their show while the lights were being hung and the set was being constructed. Additionally, it was helpful to have members from the Jack Morton production team nearby to assist in the creative process. GM executives would occasionally stop by for "tours" to see what they could expect for the show. They were fascinated by the brilliant projections of the two systems and the technology being used to ensure that their show was the best possible.
